Haig are pleased to be part of the team on the Peckham Levels project in South London, which opened for business on 8 December 2017.
The ambitious project required the conversion of an under-used local authority car park to a Cultural Hub for the people of Peckham. Our client on the scheme was Makeshift who are the team behind Pop Brixton which opened in 2015. The 100,000 sq.ft development provides a wide range of accommodation including, over 50 start-up units for small businesses and artists, gallery space, health and beauty space and a large open plan food and beverage space with 8 food outlets and 3 bars over seven floors of car park
We became involved with the project in Early Summer 17, as their contractor had gone into receivership, we worked with Makeshift and their professional team to develop a strategy to re-engage the subcontractors quickly to minimise the delay to the project. After considering the options we, were appointed on a Construction Management basis to manage the project through to completion, and had the project back up and running within 2 weeks of our appointment, which enabled us to achieve the client’s goal of having the building open to the public for Early December 2017.
